Luca Mirelli Curti - 1973 Milano, Italy. I began my journey with street photography almost by chance in the early 2000s thanks to Matteo Pioltelli, who, besides being my best friend, is also a talented photographer who, having started at a young age, already had many years of experience and knowledge in this segment of photography.

I immediately devoted myself to street photography, mainly because it felt closest to me and to the opportunities of my life.

My character and my sensitivity have often been a "limitation" in an increasingly cold world that I have always understood little and accepted even less; street photography has given me the opportunity to better know and understand others, to observe everything that is not me, that I have not been, and that perhaps I will never be; it has allowed me to observe life from different angles, trying to understand the best vantage point to see what was before me most clearly.

Photography was a way for me to approach the oddities, customs, and differences of society, while the camera helped me strip away these "differences" and bring out each individual's identity.

Over the years, my passion for photography merged with my profession as a web designer, and, together with Matteo Pioltelli, in 2025 we decided to found theroadphotographer.com, an accessible web community for photographers and amateur photographers, dedicated exclusively to black-and-white street photography, which for us has always been a fundamental and essential element of our narrative style.

Today, this community selects photographers from around the world to promote their street photography through photography exhibitions in public venues, cultural associations, and photography galleries in the most popular areas of Milano, as well as online through our official Instagram channel @theroadphotographer.

This photography community has allowed me/us to realize not only our dream to live with and for our great passion for photography but also to "travel," even if often only virtually, through the eyes of many photographers around the world who have allowed us, through their shots, to discover many distant realities and identities.

MY STREET PHILOSOPHY - I'm a street photographer with the bizarre and presumptuous idea of ​​using my photography to tell the story of humanity, society, its conditions, and its contradictions.

I seek to penetrate that invisible yet perceptible boundary where no one's space is capable of simultaneously hosting soul and matter, where everything is always hidden. I seek to reveal identity by stripping away differences.
